I must admit that when I saw this I thought the worse but luckily all Mike suffered was a broken leg. What a crash!

This is great onboard footage which really shows you what it feels like to race in a Formula Ford. Ride along with Matt White for a few qualifying laps at Mosport. Shot on a Nikon Coolpix S3, Matt Qualifies 6th and make his way to the front to win the race.

Without a doubt, Spa is one of the greatest circuits still being used today and a definite link to motorsports’ past. To race at Spa, and I mean truly race, you have to have the cojones to tackle it full on. This is great on board video of Steffen Moeller doing a lap at Spa in a Formula Renault 2.0.

Enjoy!

In recognition of the current F3 Euro Series tests taking place at the same venue, here is great footage of a lap of the Valencia, Spain circuit from last year’s F3 Euro Series tests that took place from March 23-24, 2009. Climb on board with Esteban Gutierez from Team ART Grand Prix.

I have always been a huge fan of Brands Hatch and it is a shame that I don’t get to see much racing there. Check out this great footage of Sam Abay and Sebastian Hohenthal as they battle it out at Brands during Round 7 of the 2009 British F3 championship. Enjoy the footage and go to an F3 race this season and support the young guns!

It is only appropriate that in this week when we have a feature on Formula Ford that we get a chance to see first hand how wild Formula Ford can get.

This video is from the 2009 Australian Formula Ford race at Surfer’s Paradise. It is the last lap and all hell is about to breal loose, not once, not twice but three times!

Check this out and enjoy!

If you have a quick look at the F1 Prospects Links page you will notice quite a few Formula Renault series that are being run around the world. Formula Renault has a long history of developing young racing drivers and the series continues unabated in 2010.

The 2010 Formula Renault 2.0 race car replaces the Tatuus-built chassis which is currently the world’s best-selling single-seater.

The 2010 Formula Renault 2.0 race car has a new chassis, a 7-speed sequential gearbox, and a 2.0-litre, 16v normally-aspirated F4R832 engine. The engine of the 2010 Formula Renault 2.0 race car comes from the Clio Renault Sport phase II. The single-seater also features electronically-controlled, steering wheel-mounted gearshift paddles, a new ECU with data acquisition and a color instrument panel integrated in the steering wheel.

In this special edition of Hot Lap I would like to introduce to you the brand new 2010 Formula Renault 2.0 with a video produced by Renault Sport themselves. And don’t worry, despite the fact that the video is in French it does have English subtitles.
